Team Log 5/18/17

We finally got a much better understanding on improved ways to fix the ROV's frame and motors, and got everything more arranged to where we are really coming close to finishing.

This task entailed having everything finished to where we can be almost complete in terms of having the ROV ready before testing.

Challenges included fixing any more minor mistakes, including pipe length and how to fit the wires and motor with the frame.

Next class, we hope to put the finishing polish on everything before testing.

Team Log 5/16/17

We got started on building everything with the actual pipes from the store, spending money and really getting started on the frame. The motors started to come together and the control box was almost complete.

This task entailed being even more prepared for everything so that we could be almost ready when we are coming close to the deadline of ROV testing.

Some challenges included being off on some measurements for the frame and how the motors had rather unusual defects with the controls. We had to readjust to fix these mistakes.

Next class, we hope to have everything done before ROV testing is expected.

Team Log 5/12/17

We did even more progress on each of our roles of the ROV, including the frame, motors, and control box.

This task entailed having more progress done on the ROV so we can slowly build up, watch out for any errors in our plans, or get any better ideas on how we can improve.

We learned we could make more adjustments when things started to fail, including the frame needing better design ideas or how the motor needed more wires to be superglued to.

Next class, we hope to be almost done with our prototypes and get started building the real things for the frame and even start buying pipes from the store.

Team Log 5/11/17

5/11/17

We got started on each other's roles in terms of building the ROV. Including working on the motors, working on the frame, and getting started on the control box.

This helped everyone get started on decent progress when it comes to finishing up everything as a start for the ROV. We got better equipped for what we are expected to be doing to finish up the ROV.

We learned the challenges of each of our roles and came up with ideas on how we can improve or make things more functional.

Next class, we hope to have even more progress on the ROV done.

Team Log 5/19/17

5/19/17

We finished constructing both the ROV frame and the motors for the ROV. However, our control box person was not here today, so we still need to worry about creating a functional control box.

This task entailed having the most important components of the ROV ready before the deadline of testing everything out at the pool.

We learned there are different and better ways to construct the ROV through connecting the frame and the motor.

Next class, we hope to have everything ready, including the frame, the motors, AND the control box so that we are completely ready for the ROV testing.

Team Log 5 / 9 / 17

5/9/17

We worked on finishing up everyone's interviews and watched some training videos on how to use proper tools.

This helped everyone get equipped on the knowledge of our ROV basic parts, as well as getting some idea on how to use the tools required to build our assigned parts of the ROV.

We learned the challenges and important ways to handle tools for when we build the frame, motor, and Control Box.

Next class, we hope to get started with building prototypes based on our thoughts on what the design should be.

Team Log 5/5/17

Memorized information about the ROV and got our interview done!
